The Board of Directors
of the North American Iranian Radiological Society (NAIRS)
acknowledges with warm appreciation the tireless efforts
of Karim Vessal, M.D., for bringing into existence the
first issue of the Iranian Journal of Radiology.
The ever-evolving technological advancements in the
field of radiological sciences and the immense body of
knowledge accrued necessitate a better approach to
communicate this information.
During the past three
decades, Dr. Vessal has continuously made significant
contributions to promote the science and art of
radiology, and has taught the radiological sciences to
residents and medical students in Iran. Dr. Vessal has
established and has been functioning as the editor of
the Iranian Journal of Medical Sciences since
1993. With his exceptional talent, sound scientific
background, experience and dedication to excellence, he
is the most qualified individual for the job.
It is hoped that
publication of this new journal in radiology will be
another step towards advancement of this rapidly growing
medical discipline at both national and regional
levels. The North American Iranian Radiological Society
commends Dr. Vessal for his leadership, devotion, and
achievement in this professional endeavor.
